Situated across the border in Tijuana, Mexico, this airport is an alternative option for travelers in the San Diego area. Many travelers find flights from Tijuana to be more affordable, especially for certain international destinations. While not in San Diego itself, John Wayne Airport is about an hour and a half drive north in Orange County, California. It serves as another alternative for travelers in the region, offering a variety of domestic flights and some international connections.
